Who Are the Youngest Golfers to Play the Solheim Cup?
Those two golfers were Charley Hull, the overall and Team Europe recordholder for youngest player; and Lexi Thompson, the youngest player ever on Team USA.
Hull was 17 years, 4 months and 25 days old when the 2013 Solheim Cup teed off. She lost her first match, a Day 1 afternoon fourball, but then won the other two matches she played. One of those was a Day 2 afternoon fourball with her young counterpart, Thompson, on the other side. Hull and partner Jodi Ewart Shadoff def. Thompson and Paula Creamer, 2-up. In singles, Hull staged a decisive victory over Creamer, one of Team USA's most successful Solheim Cuppers, by a 5-and-4 score.
In setting the Team USA record as youngest player (second overall to Hull), Thompson was 18 years, 6 months and 6 days old in 2013. She was 1-2-0 in the competition that year, but her record included a 4-and-3 singles victory over Caroline Masson.

Hull is the only Team Europe golfer who appears on the list, but she appears twice: She still had not turned 20 when she ran off a 4-1-0 record in the 2015 Solheim Cup. When Hull next played in the 2017 Solheim Cup, she was still, at that time, the fourth-youngest player ever on Team Europe.
None of the youngest-ever Solheim Cup golfers played poorly; in fact, only Thompson had a losing record. Among those under-20s to play, Michelle Wie had the best record, going unbeaten (3-0-1) in the 2009 Solheim Cup. That included a dramatic singles victory over Suzann Pettersen.
